This immersive pilgrimage will be led by Corinne and Matthew Andrews, co-owners of Shraddhā Yoga. We are grateful to share our love of sacred India with you!

We have been organizing and facilitating retreats/pilgrimages in North and South India since 2016. We will draw upon our extensive local contacts, decades-long practice and study of yoga, and deep reverence for the land, culture, temples and people to create a rich and immersive experience.

Throughout this retreat, we will visit dozens of sacred sites. These places have absorbed the prayers and aspirations of millions of devotees and spiritual seekers and are understood to be ‘tirthas’, or portals where spiritual energy flows into the material plane. Our focus in these places will be to experience this energy and open to its transformational potential.

The first five nights will be at Quiet Healing Center in Auroville. We’ll practice āsāna, prānāyāma, meditation, and mantra chanting together, swim in the ocean and set a foundation for our explorations into the nature of Self. The trip cost includes one massage while at Quiet, and additional bodywork will be available on a cost basis. We will also visit the Matrimandir, Kameeswarar Shiva Temple the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, and Mohanam Cultural Heritage Centre.

We will spend the next seven nights in Tiruvannamalai diving into relationship with holy Arunachala. Arunachala is Shiva: the primordial divine consciousness that underlies everything we see and touch and think. The mountain radiates grace in every direction. It is a presence that holds us in love and a wisdom that can guide us toward self realization. We will stay at Triveni Ashram, which is connected with the Yogiramsuratkumar Ashram.

While in Tiru ee will visit yogis, swamis, Ammas and spiritual teachers who transmit the wisdom, love and grace of Arunachala Shiva in their own unique ways. And we will participate in ancient sacred rituals that invoke the divine presence and create a container for going deep within ourselves to discover the truth that resides there.

We will also have focused time for meditation, movement and journaling, and time for sharing in the spirit of community. We will breathe deeply and chant together every day.

Arunachala has been a pilgrimage site for thousands of years, and offers its ancient wisdom to seekers who come to spend time in its aura. The most famous of these seekers was Ramana Maharshi, who arrived as a teenager and never again left the mountain. Others include Guhai Namasivaya, Virupaksha Deva, Yogi Ramsuratkumar, and Guru Narayana Swami. Each of these yogis left behind the radiance of their embodied love for Shiva in particular locations around Tiruvannamalai, and we will visit these places and taste their nectar.

We will do girivalam, walking the 8 mile route around Arunachala and visit the largest Śiva temple in South India, as well as the much older Adi Annamalai temple and other local shrines. We will spend time at the Yogi Ramsuratkumar Ashram, sing devotional chants and songs, spend time at Nadaloka sound temple and participate in Vedic ceremonies conducted by local priests. We will eat delicious traditional South Indian food, and bask in the holy vibration of Arunachala.

  • For the first 5 nights we will stay in Quiet, which is a community of Auroville in Tamil Nadu.

Then we will travel to Tiruvannamalai and stay at Triveni Ashram for the remaining 7 nights.

Triveni is a special retreat situated just outside the Yogi Ramsuratkumar Ashram, walking distance from Arunachala and the Ramana Maharshi Ashram.

Rooms are shared. If you absolutely require a single room, it may be possible if you register early.

  • The cost is $3,000. This cost includes transportation from the airport to Quiet, all meals and accommodations for 12 nights, one massage at Quiet, and all contributions to teachers, temples, etc.

The cost of flights are not included and you will need to book and pay for your own flight. We are available to support you in choosing the flight.

We recommend bringing some spending money for gift shopping, as well as additional personal contributions to sadhus (holy beggars), temples, or tips for drivers or resort/ashram staff.

    Payment plans are available.

  • Matthew and Corinne Andrews, co-founders of Shraddhā Yoga, will serve as guides and facilitators.

Between them they have led fourteen retreats in North and South India.

They will draw on their strong local connections and depth of experience with yoga and India to create a rich and profound experience.

Program Details

In India, ancient streams of indigenous wisdom are thoroughly infused into the social and cultural fabric of day to day life. As a result, the Earth breathes more freely. The Divine Mother has been honored here for millennia, and Her being can be felt resonating in the air, the water, the plants and soil. It is an amazing gift to share our love of India with you, and to organize collective immersions in Her beauty and richness.

  • I signed up for the 2025 South India Pilgrimage with Shraddha somewhat impulsively, without fully understanding what the trip would entail. I'm so glad I took that leap of faith. I was deeply moved by the cultural reverence and the profound connection between the land, the Indian people, and the Shraddha community. Thanks to the strong relationships that Matthew and Corinne have cultivated, we were blessed with opportunities that most visitors do not have. We gained special access to some temples and were able to have intimate meetings and discussions with high-level leaders of temples and ashrams. We were also invited to participate in a variety of experiences, allowing us to more fully explore the diverse traditions and cultures surrounding us. Matthew and Corinne had well-thought-out plans for each day, but were also flexible and able to adjust to the group's changing needs. Whether addressing minor illnesses or injuries, they ensured inclusivity and cohesion within the group. As I return to my daily life, I continue to develop a deep appreciation and fondness for India, its people, and the culture I was fortunate enough to immerse myself in, if only for a short time. Already, I hear a siren song in my heart, calling me to return.

  • "For the past few years, I'd been telling myself, "Oh! I'd love to go on one of Matthew and Corinne's India trips!" And in 2023, something inside me said "YES - I'm going this time!" It was the perfect time to go, and the focus on the spiritual aspect of Mother India was exactly what I was looking for. With their long association with India and Tiruvannamalai, combined with their deep spiritual cores, Matthew and Corinne were the perfect guides to the hidden treasures, of holy Arunachala and Tiruvannamalai. This sacred journey was deeply transformative for me, and brought me into a far deeper, more authentic inner relationship with That divine One whom we all seek."

  • I had the incredible opportunity to embark on the pilgrimage to Southern India with Matthew and Corinne. This was my first trip to India and it was was everything I had heard - bright, loud & even a little dirty. However, amidst the chaos, I encountered some of the most beautiful people I have ever met and their genuine reverence for God left a mark on my soul. The trip encompassed not only an outer exploration of India, but also an inner exploration of the Self. We practices yoga asana and pranayama, visited ashrams, mediated in caves, sat with a variety of spiritual teachers, ate delicious food and so much more! One of the most profound experiences was the 9 mile walk around Arunachala. It was a powerful reminder that sometimes, in order to embrace the beauty of renewal, certain aspects of our lives need to be let go of. This pilgrimage to Southern India has forever changed me. It has opened my heart to a greater understanding of spirituality. I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to have embarked on this soul-stirring journey with Matthew and Corinne.

  • Having had the privilege of taking the Shraddhā Yoga Teacher Training, I fully trusted Corinne and Matthew to guide an authentic yoga pilgrimage and retreat to India. It starts with the location they chose, maybe the most spiritual place in the world, Tiruvannamalai. Tamil Nadu, South India. They brought clarity to the chaos that is Tiruvannamalai, through insightful, and experienced knowledge, creating an extremely well curated yoga pilgrimage. There was a rhythm to our days balanced with flexibility to meet everyone’s individual needs; curiously asking each day, “Who Am I”? Starting early morning with prānāyāma and āsana followed by a visit to an Ashram, including individual discussion with the Swami/Amma or on another day helping make food to later distribute in the streets. Maybe you stayed out all day or returned to our lodging for an afternoon rest and dip in the pool. Conveniently, the accommodation was in a perfect setting amongst farmland but only a short ride to the city. Once the afternoon sun set you returned to the Ashram for a Puja ceremony and a delicious meal. The journey this offers is immense and different for everyone. I gained answers to questions I didn't even knew I was seeking. That was my true blessing from this experience.

  • “Matthew is a skilled guide who feels at home in India. He has an excellent grasp of local resources and the ability to put together a trip that is well-paced, fascinating, and is adapted to the needs of the group. His blend of enthusiasm, practicality, and calm make him an excellent trip leader. He handled myriad details with grace and skill so that participants could focus on experiencing rather than planning.”

Gretchen Brown-Courage, Montessori School Admin/Teacher, Yoga Teacher

  • "I wholeheartedly recommend the South India trip with Shraddha Yoga. Corinne & Matthew provide a wonderfully immersive experience. Their knowledge of the area, commitment to living their yoga, and sharing the relationships they have made over the years help weave together a trip that balances itinerary with spontaneity, and spiritual seeking with laughter. It offers enough levels of challenge to mind and body that make this trip accessible to most. When asked to describe my time, I mostly pause, breathe and smile. How can I encapsulate that heart opening, lyrical, expansive experience in only a few words? Go and find out for yourself."

  • I've been fortunate to travel to India multiple times with Matthew and Corinne, and I can honestly say these trips have been life-changing. Their knowledge, wisdom, and deep love for India, especially Tiruvannamalai, make their guided journeys a profound spiritual adventure. They are deep, respectful yoga teachers and beautiful exemplars of bhakti devotion. Their friendships with local teachers, sages, and swamis, whom they share with us, are one thing that sets their trips apart. I've had profound experiences learning from these authentic, wise teachers. I could go on about the transformative impact, but I encourage you to experience it firsthand. Joining them on this journey offers a profound inner and outer adventure that will stay with you for the rest of your life.

The depth of spiritual seeking and aspiration that gave birth to the yoga traditions is alive and resonant in India like no other place.

Our retreats and pilgrimages to different places in both South and North India offer a chance to experience India’s rich spiritual culture and ancient wisdom. We collaborate with local guides and teachers who share local traditions and art, and provide access to sacred sites with context.

From the gratitude we at Shraddhā Yoga have for all we have been given, we give back and support various aspects of Indian culture and society.  Over the years, we have supported Mohanam Village Heritage Centre, Arunachala Ashram’s Sat Dharma Trust, and Baba’s Feed Project.
