Developmental Yoga- Finding Self on Earth
(Based on neurocellular developmental patterns as outlined by Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen.)
Fundamental templates of body, mind, movement coordination are laid down during the first year of life. These developmental patterns form a neuro-cellular net of support that underlies our ongoing development for years to come.
Each of the developmental patterns forms an underlying weave of consciousness and movement. One supports the other as we grow into more complexity and differentiation.
This workshop invites us to revisit and enliven these fundamental organizational patterns through our explorations of the yoga form. The invitation is to make connections that we may have missed experiencing in our earlier development. Often these explorations yield increased coordination and ease to be felt in our adult movement.
This Workshop Explores
Arriving: the arising of desire
Homologous movement pattern
Expanding perceptual field
Moving through space
Homolateral movement pattern
