From Birth to Earth:

Racial Inequity in Yoga Communities and Our Responsibility

With Naima Beckles and Eric Mosley

Naima Beckles and Eric Mosley E-RYT 200, will guide participants through the history of racial inequity from "birth to earth," create a container for self-inquiry and analysis, and draft or "birth" personal commitments as yoga teachers grounded in the Yamas, or ethical guidelines from Patanjali's eightfold path.

They will guide us into the raw and vulnerable spaces of looking at our own relationship to race, wellness, and access to the teachings of yoga.

What to expect.

In this three hour workshop, expect a combination of embodied practices, skills, reflection prompts, sharing and compassionate listening to explore the raw and vulnerable spaces of unpacking personal relationships to race, wellness, and the teachings of yoga.

Other considerations:

  1. All health and wellness begins with maternal health and wellness.

  2. This workshop is just the beginning of what should be a life-long process of inquiry.

  3. Active participation is necessary.

  4. Participants will receive a resource list of materials mentioned throughout the workshop.
