Yoga Āsana Class Descriptions

Our postural yoga classes invite you into the space where body, mind, and soul touch. Experience your embodied self in movement and in stillness with postures designed to strengthen, release and awaken.

Most of our āsana classes are based in Embodyoga®, developed by Patty Townsend. Embodyoga is a blend of Hatha and Tantra Yoga traditions, with somatic experiencing practices from The School For Body Mind Centering. Each class and teacher of Embodyoga has a unique vibration and focus according to the teacher, style, and level. They all emphasize a practice from the inside out with different expressions/variations of each posture or movement that meet and honor each student where they are. There is no “one size fits all”! If there is a goal, it is to support you in deepening your awareness, tapping into the underlying consciousness within, connect more fully to your Self, Truth and the Divine One (who goes by many names).

All classes are rated on a scale according to their pace and level of physical vigor:

(G) Gentle — softly balancing deep rest and gentle tone
(M) Moderate — accessible, enjoyable well-balanced
(V) Vigorous — a faster pace or stronger, longer holds and more physically challenging expressions of postures
